st kilda in print

finally got these prints developed, took them back in january (summer). holly and i went out to st kilda to have lunch at one of my favourite spots - lentil as anything! they're a vegetarian restaurant located on blessington street and they make the best japanese pancake. you pay what you think the meal was worth, hence the 'we rely on your generosity'. i highly recommend you give it a try!

on a different note, developing photographs really does bring up some awkward conversation! i had taken a few shots of a night out and completely forgotten about them, and going in to pick them up the store owner goes:

"looks like you had a fun night!"

"yeahh i did! i really do love using disposables, i don't even remember taking these shots!"

"of course you don't (creepy grin)"

"no no i mean, i couldn't remember what i had taken shots of - i love that element of surprise with film cameras"

"sure sure (creepy grin)"

sunday market

it was the most beautiful day. i headed out to the market today in desperate need of new (or old - vintage) winter clothes. i bought the coolest 90's jacket along with some knitted sweaters and beanies, all second hand and all one of a kind. the sun was out and individuals strummed away on guitars and whatnot serenading the air along with a chilly autumn breeze. the food, the people, the music, it was all lovely.

he's one of the only people i can talk complete and utter rubbish to and he'll always try to make sense of it. he's one of the only people who sometimes understands my bizarre thoughts, i think i annoy him. he is also one of the most talented people i have ever met.

sydney road festival, 06/03/2011

after the last few wintry days in march, the 28 degree weather on sunday was a sigh of relief! and so keshia and i headed out to brunswick. this rare summers day did not only mean a street full of fedoras and exposed skin, but a sea of diverse photo opportunities! the different cultures at the sydney road festival were remarkable. we walked the length of the festival, enjoyed Mediterranean rottis, marveled at the various ethnic stalls (spanish, greek, indian, you name it) it was beautiful. spiked, gelled hair and studded belts, vintage denim jackets and faded ripped jeans, loyal band t shirts, colourful dreads, batiks, exquisite costumes and lets not forget the music. it was amazing, and we'll definitely be back next year!
